Hi
I am investigating some glass from an archaeological context which may be related to windows designed and installed by Powell & sons. I am carrying out analysis of the glass to determine the composition and the recipe of the glass and if it is possible to date its manufacture. I am finding a couple of pieces - a blue one and a clear 'white' glass that are high in lead. I also note that Powell and sons experimented with producing new colours of stained glass. Does anyone on here point me in the direction of more info about the experimentation carried out to make new types of window glass at Whitefriars in the 19th and early 20th C - in particular recipes used to make different colours of glass during this time? Thanks
