Hello all
As some of you may already be aware there is a glass specialist sale taking place at Fieldings auction house in Birmingham on the 8th of March. Contained in the auction are numerous, original Whitefriars factory moulds. These, as others have pointed out, should be in a museum for people to enjoy and not in the hands of anyone who may use them for the wrong reasons.
I personally have a strong desire to buy them and place them in the museum of Harrow or London where they belong.
In order to have a chance of doing this I need your help!
I have set up a paypal account under the address of whitefriarsrescuefund@yahoo.co.uk, with the expressed purpose of raising money through donations to buy the moulds. All money raised will be spent on that alone!
It is a tall ask to achieve enough to buy them all, but whatever money is raised will be put towards as many of them as physically possible.
Please please help get these items to where they belong.
Should we be unsuccessful on winning any of the moulds then the money will be refunded in full to the donator or given to a charity should they wish to do this instead.
Warm regards and thank you so much in advance for any help you can provide

It really is unbelievable that these items are being offered to the open market. The auction room should reconsider auctioning these lots, do they not realise that this will massively devalue the Whitefriars items they relate to?

Thank you Marc and I couldn't agree more. Thank you so much for the donation as well. I believe we can do it if everyone gives what they can

When we saved the Ebay moulds ( nuts and Bolts, Onion etc ) some years ago, it needed members to donate glass that was then auctioned to raise the money.I think the fund raising spread over about 6 weeks........... With this auction on the 8th of March there is very little time to do this. The Sunface stamping tool is in my opinion the one to save but not going to be cheap.
Good luck Chris with your efforts.
Patrick.
