Hi, I have a piece that I cant pin down exactly. It is 5 1/2 inches high and could be 9842/3 or 9608/9. I couldnt work out which so any help is appreciated. I look forward to using this site more and thanks for setting it up.

Hi Petet It could be a 9857. It's half an nice taller but is within tolerance .

Thanks Marc. The size was the worry. Have heard the term 'tolerance' in relation to glass and now understand it. Thanks.

It was very difficult for the blower to get the gather the same size every time. Some end up thicker or thinner. Others taller or fatter in size.

I am really sorry Emmi, I did not realise I had done that and replied as well I really do have a memory problem (v strong painkillers) and the confusion with .com and not being able to post on it I put it on here. My apologies and my head is suitably hung in shame
